Supporting Remote Users

Widely available Internet access has revolutionized the way we work and study. In less than 20 years we have moved from dial-up, through wired Ethernet to Wireless and Cellular Internet access.

We expect the Internet, everywhere

If you support remote users, you’ll know that these days everyone expects the same performance and access to data and applications no matter where they are.

While it’s understandable that, in some locations, the quality and bandwidth of local connectivity may be an issue (if it’s available at all), users don’t often understand why performance can be poor or some applications are not available to them.

Remote access technologies can be expensive or unavailable

Innovations in cloud services and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions have offered some answers if you’re at the smaller end of the market but you may find that it’s difficult to access these kinds of solutions.

In these cases you have to revert to delivering a local IT environment on which you install your local application, and then serve it out to remote users with technologies such as VPN server (Virtual Private Network) or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS). But this involves you taking the money, time and effort to build and maintain your own on-site infrastructure.

How Zynstra helps

Zynstra delivers an on-premises IT server that delivers the standard IT infrastructure services you need, while offering an out-of-the-box approach to remote access. All Zynstra services include a VPN server as standard meaning that, wherever you have a reasonable Internet connection, you can gain remote access to your local applications and data.

Furthermore, should you want a complete VDI-like experience, a Microsoft Remote Desktop solution can be easily added by simply selecting this from our range of managed applications.

Zynstra monitor and patch all of the local IT infrastructure services, along with any installed managed applications, leaving you to focus on the IT that makes you unique, not the stuff that should just work.
